What's an Opponaut's favorite brewski/drink when working on a car? Specifically when taking a break?
I'm open to try out anything.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

I drink Lagunitas IPA and/or Sea Dog Blue Paw during my breaks.
I'm not encouraging anything so please don't get offended. (*DO NOT WORK ON YOUR CAR DRUNK*)
I apologize if this is a repost; I have seen Oppos' post beers, but haven't seen survey-ish posts. Point one out so I can credit ya. Have a good HUMP day fellaz'.

Hmm, I dont really deviate from my regular beers.

I like Leffe, Sierra Nevada, Coors Regular (banquet beer :P), All Day IPA, I could keep going.

Just bought a sixpack of Becks, haven't had it in a while.

Usually some sort of lager, doesn't get me very drunk very fast (compared to all the craft beer I'd usually want) and quenches thirst better. I've been digging the Shift Pale Lager from New Belgium recently, but my go-to is Rainier. Because I'm from Seattle and all.

In the summer, I drink a lot more hard cider, and Strongbow in pounders is my staple when I can afford it.

How's Leffe? I've seen it around World Market. Hoegaarden type?

On hot day working on a car that I know I will be going back to work on I love a ice cold coca cola. It tastes good and makes me remember having it with my grandpa when I was little and just the flashlight holder and tool getter. When I'm done working on a car I like coors light or a heferizen.

Preety good and strong beer, and because I'm in college it helps that it's quite cheap. As for brands from other countries,I prefer Pilsner Urquell(if i can find it since it's kinda hard),which I'm preety sure is the best beer I ever drunk and Peroni.

When working on a car? Whatever is cold, refreshing, and in my beer fridge. I don't keep any one beer on hand at all times (other than the "cellared" brews which have been there forever, and those are absolutely not consumed during working on a car, after maybe, but not during).

Hi5 for Shift. One of my personal favorites and brewed locally :)

However when I'm wrenching I usually have some PBR by my side. Cheap, easy drinking, and doesn't get you drunk as long as you are even remotely active.

Yup, pretty much. Although I am lighter weight than most people and can only drink a couple before I'm not good at working on anything anymore. Such is my life. Rainier seems to be just a tad lighter than PBR, though it's probably the exact same thing...

For working on cars (or doing any manual labor, really) I tend to go for something that is lighter and lower on the alcohol content. Bell's Oarsman is probably my go-to for that at the moment. It is crisp and refreshing, and the alcohol content is only around 4% or so. It is also quite sour - it almost tastes like you are drinking a mexican beer with a lime in it (which is also pretty good on a hot day in the garage), but you don't actually have to mess with any fruit.

Genny Creeeeeam that's our shiznat, that and Utica Club- America's first beer available after prohibition. I just killed a $4.50 6 pack of Genny Bock why wouldn't you. Since Rochester is only 1.5 hrs up the lake from me I've been meaning to visit the brewery.

Haven't needed to because I had friend/ a roomy who worked at Ithaca beer and would stock our ridge with endless amounts of freee

Kinja'd!!!

Excluding the Nut brown and Apricot wheat-which we usually accepted because no other employee wanted those. Kinda a nancy-beer but good when its hot out and it was fantastic for the small time they used real apricot preserves from a local orchard. They couldn't sell the ones with a few ml's more or less beer or if the label is messed up.

Anyhoo, nothing like pulling Flower Power or their Excalibur series right off the bright tanks. Got thoroughly tanked a couple times doing that

If you can find it, Left Hand Milk Stout (from Colorado) is a great beer with a smooth and mild coffee flavor without the heaviness usually found in a stout. My other favorites are Peroni, Warsteiner (because DTM), or a simple Yuengling...

Its still spotty but they should have distributed there by now. Apparently a bar in Boston and Maryland sells almost nothing but the stuff and they can hardly keep stock. If you come across it buy the Flower Power, Cascazilla (red IPA there's a gorge system called Cascadilla so...), Groundbreak or Coldfront, both of which are newish.

Anyhoo kudos on the Chimay. Ithaca made a wild yeast/Bret from their Excelsior series that was a combination of '07, '08 & '09 vintages that won gold in Colorado couple years back...Le Bleu I believe. Fucking perfection. Bar owners would give their left nut for a bottle. They still make a bret, but not like that...heh a microbiologist doctorate ladyfriend from Cornell successfully cultured & stored the yeast for us. : )
